To attract writers who might otherwise not be able to attend our workshop and to support writers whose work shows promise but has not yet found publication or an audience, we offer a variety of awards each year to reduce the financial burden of attending or to encourage emerging voices.

- Supports student writers of at least 18 years of age with partial to full fee waivers, allowing recipients to register for free or reduced cost.
- Applications reviewed weekly starting March 20th.

- The Young Lance Fellowship is dedicated to helping underrepresented writers capture and share their stories.
- The 2023 Fellowship will be provide full RESIDENCY for up to SIX INDIGENOUS emerging writers. Recipients will attend a pre-workshop session at Chadron State College, the retreat in the Black Hills, will have all registration fees waived and will receive help with transportation, lodging and meals.
